Mike Casey, Managing Partner Storey Hospitality and Storey Hotel Management Group were both cofounded by Bay Area native, Mike Casey. Mike has over 30 years experience in the hotel industry and has launched and actively managed multiple multi-million dollar hotels for leading hospitality companies, from construction through market.
Combining an entrepreneurial style with strategic thinking, Mike creates systems, processes and procedures that repeatedly produce the highest industry ratings for revenue and quality, as well as media accolades for such award-winning properties as Rosewood Sand Hill, The Palomar and Omni Hotel in San Francisco, and Hyatt Hotels. There he was head of operations for 28 Guckenheimer @ Google cafes across the nation, over 100 event venues, 125 micro-kitchens and 700+ employees. With an annual budget of $106 million, his team served more than 25,000 meals a day to 14,000+ Google employees and won numerous awards including #1 Café, #1 Catering Team and #1 Micro-Kitchen Team in the Americas.
Mike has served as Chairman of the Albequerque Convention and Visitors Bureau, Officer representing Management for the San Francisco Hotel Union and Management Multi-Employer Group, and Officer of the Hotel Council of San Francisco. He enjoys being active in the community and has served on the Advisory Board of the Ronald McDonald House and for many years as a youth baseball coach and Commissioner of the Orinda Baseball Association.
Laura Rose, Managing Partner Laura Rose brings over 25 years of experience in sales, marketing and digital content strategy to the Storey team. Laura's focus is on helping brands engage their audience, creatively communicate their message and get the results they desire. Whether it's honing a property's brand positioning, creating an effective sales and marketing plan, or designing a digital media and SEO strategy, Laura works with our clients to make sure they achieve their goals.
Prior to Storey Hospitality, Laura spent six years both on and behind the camera hosting, scripting, producing and directing video for online and television distribution. As a leader in the Bay Area multi-media industry, she created compelling marketing content for clients, including many within the hospitality industry, such as The Palace Hotel, A16 and the Tonic Nightlife Group. Laura began her business career in human resources focused on recruiting, staffing and retention. She then moved into sales where she set multiple performance records, first in the staffing industry for Manpower and then as the number one Major Account Manager for Xerox Corporation in the California Government and Education Organization.
Laura is also passionate about giving back to the community and has served as President of the Board of Young Audiences of Northern California, Founder and President of The San Francisco Women's Club, member of the Junior League of San Francisco, and member of the Environmental Satellite for the United Religions Initiative. Laura was awarded a Certificate of Recognition from the California State Senate and Assembly for her work on behalf of women and children in the Bay Area.
Catherine Markwell, Business Development Catherine Markwell is a Silicon Valley native, born and raised in Los Altos, California. Catherine began her career in the hospitality industry overseeing individual and small group sales for the Century Plaza Hotel in Los Angeles, where she was the main contact for the Department of State, Secret Service and responsible for all dignitaries and notable VIP guests. She was also appointed by the State Department as Protocol Liaison for the Olympics in Barcelona, Spain, serving as a resource for visiting dignitaries and assisting all advance teams with cultural sensitivity, security and translation.
Catherine left the hospitality industry for a career in finance and worked as an advisor for PaineWebber and Smith Barney. She was also an investment banker at Fortrend International in San Francisco, with a focus on international investment banking and founder-based companies in the US and abroad. Catherine’s passion for entrepreneurship and the non-profit sector next led her to the role of CEO of The BizWorld Foundation, a Silicon Valley-based educational organization created by Tim Draper, Founder of Draper Fisher Jurvetson. Catherine grew The BizWorld Foundation from a small, local start-up to an international non-profit organization that has helped prepare over 500,000 children worldwide for the global economy.
A strong advocate for education and entrepreneurship and noted speaker on the topics of board development and fundraising, Catherine has served on the Full Circle Fund board, The Financial Women’s Association of San Francisco, The Future Leaders Institute in Oakland, Tahoe Fund, Tahoe Connections for Families and as Chair of the Junior League of San Francisco Fashion Show. She currently serves on the Parasol Community Foundation and at St. Patrick’s Episocal Church in Incline Village.

Susan Brown - Guest Experiences & Lifestyle Photography A native of San Francisco, Susan has had the rare opportunity throughout her life to travel the world and get to know some of the most fascinating people and places in it. To share this special insight and access with others, she launched a tour company called Beyond the Fog that offers bespoke, one-of-a-kind experiences in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Susan received her Bachelor’s Degree in Theater from New York University and her Master’s Degree in Film Production from the University of Southern California. She has worked for CBS News, in film and television production for Spike Lee and Bill Cosby, and in advertising production for Oglivy & Mather, TBWA Chiat Day and J. Walter Thompson in New York. She has also produced and directed several documentary films of her own.
Susan now brings her love of film and storytelling to her photography, where she focuses on lifestyle and portrait photography. She is currently creating two portrait books, one featuring the prominent African Americans in San Francisco and another featuring the most iconic and fascinating individuals who have made San Francisco the amazing city that it is today.
Susan is passionate about making a difference and works at The Willie L. Brown, Jr. Institute on Politics and Public Service where she is Director of Special Projects. Here she has created a scholarship program for boys in underserved communities, taught film and theater to girls at the African American Arts and Cultural Center in San Francisco, and helped create the Bay View Back to School Carnival, focused on promoting a fun and healthy lifestyle within the community. Susan also serves on the board of the Museum of African Diaspora and the Maritime Museum in San Francisco, and is an active member of the Calling All Choir.
Shelley Lindgren - Wine Programming & Food and Beverage Training Shelley Lindgren is Wine Director and Partner in A16 and SPQR Restaurants. Shelley's reputation for seeking out Italian wines made with lesser-known grapes has earned her recognition as a wine pioneer. In 2004, she and her partners opened A16 in San Francisco, a restaurant inspired by the cooking of Campania with an emphasis on Southern Italian wines, an idea that was unheard of at the time. More than a decade later, A16 is thriving, with an award-winning wine list, a second restaurant in Oakland, Calif., and a sister restaurant, SPQR, that is also dedicated to Italian wine.
A graduate of University of San Francisco, she studied for her sommelier certificate while working at Fleur de Lys, a renowned fine-dining French restaurant. Lindgren also holds a culinary certificate at the Tante Marie Cooking School. Lindgren is a member of Les Dames d’ Escoffier and has taught at the Culinary Institute of America and SF Cooking School. She has been interviewed on several radio and television programs and podcasts about Italian wine and has been the subject of features from publications such as Food & Wine and Punch.com. After working in restaurants her whole life, Lindgren feels that her job is less about creating high-profile wine lists and more about sharing her passion for wine and hospitality with guests. She lives in San Francisco with her husband and their two sons and is on the Board of Directors for the Guild of Sommeliers as well for Slide Ranch - helping plant kids in nature since 1971.

Susan Hauser - Wellness, Yoga & Fitness Programming Fitness guru, Susan Hauser, is the founder and owner of NOW Yoga in Marin, where she has gained a cult following of over 6,500 clients. Susan found yoga ten years ago after her husband unexpectedly died from cancer. With two young boys to raise, finding a way to heal and be present for them was of the utmost importance. Yoga was different than any other exercise she had practiced before. Not only did she experience the release of endorphins and other feel-good chemicals that exercise provides, yoga helped her clear her mind, focus on the present, and start to move forward with her life.
Prior to practicing yoga, Susan was a top-performing swimmer. She swam for four years on a full scholarship for the University of Miami, a Division One school ranked Top Ten in the NCAA. Susan also qualified for the 1988 Olympic Trials.
Nancy Valerio, RN, NC - Spa & Nutrition, Employee Training Nancy Valerio, registered nurse and certified nutritionist, brings over 35 years of nursing and patient education to Dermaplus San Francisco, where she successfully developed the award-winning Medspa and a holistic nutrition program. The interaction between staff and clients in a spa environment is of the utmost importance, and Nancy focuses a great deal of attention on ensuring that guests always feel at home and cared for at Dermaplus. Nancy started her career as a New York City trauma nurse, and after a decade entered the spa industry to turn her wound care knowledge into skincare knowledge. She attributes her success and patient satisfaction to a holistic approach that incorporates skincare, medical treatments and nutrition.

He has been an integral part of the show for 18 years screening callers, reviewing movies and interviewing celebrities. Over the years, Hooman has interviewed countless celebrities including Sting, Maroon 5, 50 Cent, Michael Franti, John Travolta, Julianne Moore, Ed Harris and Hunter S. Thompson, to name a few.
Hooman's passion for film and music led him to create the film Olive in 2011, the first feature-length film shot entirely on a Smart Phone. Nicholas Hui - Video Production & Photography Nicholas Hui is the Co-Founder of Level 2 Productions, a San Francisco based Media Company. Charlene Goto - Branded Content and Internal Communication Charlene Goto is a Bay Area native and has been working in the San Francisco radio market since 2002. A Television and Radio graduate of San Francisco State University, she started in broadcasting as a production assistant for the cable channel TechTV, while also working on award-nominated programs CyberCrime and Tech Live.
Charlene began her venture into radio with an internship on The Sarah & Vinnie Morning Show, a top-rated morning show on CBS Radio in San Francisco.
